Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Stroudsmoor Country Inn Wedding | Alyssa & Alex

Where do I begin with this fairy-inspired and meticulously detailed, gorgeous wedding?  Alyssa is an artist and it was evident right down to the smallest details in her and Alex's wedding.  She was also surrounded by some seriously creative ladies, one of whom made her gorgeous crystal crown.  It truly transformed her into a wedding Goddess.

We managed to sneak out before the raindrops to a beautiful secluded spot at The Stroudsmoor for some portraits of Alyssa and her bridesmaids.  She perfectly coordinated three different dresses from BHLDN for a soft palette of blush, cream and light sage.  You would have never guessed that the wedding day was her first chance at seeing them all side by side!

As soon as the rain started we had to run for cover!  Thanks to the clear umbrellas, Alex and his groomsfolk were still able to have some outdoor portraits.  I actually think the umbrellas made the images even better.  If you're worried about rain on your wedding day, stock up.  A clear umbrella lets all of the beautiful, diffused light in on a rainy afternoon.

The ceremony was warm and intimate amidst the falling raindrops.  Alyssa's brother, James, married them and brought the perfect mix of love and humor for a thoughtful and sincere meditation.  After marrying two of their other sisters, I think he has perfected the art of ordination.

The original ceremony location was a labor of floral love and I was so thankful that the skies parted after the ceremony allowing us to take advantage of the amazingly decorated altar.  The storm provided some of the most beautiful light I have ever seen at a wedding in my ten years photographing them.  The fog in woods and the sun beams that shone through were just magical and beyond what we could have asked for.  Alyssa and Alex's portraits in the woods are some of my all-time favorites.  It was the perfect silver lining and a great reminder that sometimes you take the good with the bad and in this case, it was definitely worth it.

The reception started with a bang in the form of an exploding beer, and once the dance floor opened up the whole crowd was ready to get down.  The final, amazing touch was the Game of Thrones inspired cake cutting, complete with the GOT theme song and a real sword.  It was spectacular.  Alyssa and Alex, you are funny, sweet, witty and kind with a genuine and quiet love.  It was refreshing to witness and I truly felt honored to be photographing your day.  Thank you.

Crabtree's Kittle House Wedding - Shefali and Kieran

Now that busy season is officially over and I have more time to devote to sharing weddings and sessions, I am excited to share images of all of the wonderful people I photographed in 2016.  This post takes us back to a beautiful spring day in May at Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua, New York.  I met Shefali through her brother and his wife, whose engagement session I photographed in New York City in 2012.  Shefali was such a laid-back bride and it was truly an enjoyable day for everyone.  It is so refreshing to see a bride and groom relax and just enjoy the entirety of their wedding day.  After spending so much time planning,  I love when a couple can let go and enjoy the day they have been anticipating for so long.  I hope you enjoy the images from their day.

Silver Creek Country Club Wedding - Janelle and Sean

Janelle and Sean have a quiet love that becomes more and more apparent the more time you spend with them.  It was nice to witness such a sweet relationship that didn't put on any airs and was truly genuine and just for the two of them.  They were married at Silver Creek Country Club and it was a beautiful day for a truly perfect couple.  Thank you for trusting me to photograph this day, Janelle and Sean.  I hope these moments will last a lifetime and beyond. little girl getting ready for wedding at Silver Creek Country Club

de Seversky Mansion Wedding Photographer - Claire and Dan

I headed to Long Island to meet Claire and Dan for the first time on their wedding day.  They planned from afar in Miami and I am so glad they chose me to photograph their beautiful wedding day without having met with me about it prior to the actual event.  It was my pleasure to also photograph Claire's friend's wedding and her cousin's wedding so there were many familiar faces there which I always love.  It is such a wonderful part of my job being able to reconnect with past couples and see how their lives have changed and their families grown.  I don't get out to Long Island as much as I did when I lived in New York City but I always love an excuse to head back to New York and this day was no exception. I had photographed a wedding at the de Seversky Mansion once before in the cold of winter on a beautiful, snowy and romantic evening.  As you could imagine, July gave me a completely different set of photographs from the same venue since we traded in the snow for the heat of summer.  It was fun to see how different weddings could be in different seasons.    I loved the colors Claire chose.  The coral and light pink were soft and romantic and the pop of her sisters' brightly colored dresses really added interested to the color palette and the photographs.  Every detail was meticulously taken care of and it all added up to a truly beautiful event.

I hope you enjoy the photos from this lovely day!

Overbrook Golf Club Wedding - Tami and Matt

Tami and Matt were married on the most idyllic of days.  The timing for their portraits and the sunset light was perfection.  I have used these photos in so many ways for advertising my business and I hope Tami and Matt are as thrilled with these photos as I am.  Tami got ready for the wedding at the house Matt grew up in, which was actually built by his Dad.  I wonder if he ever imagined wedding preparations taking place here when he was designing the plans.  I bet Matt's mom did!  It was a beautiful place to get ready.

I love to see sisters helping the bride get dressed on the wedding day.  Having only a brother, I am fascinated by the bond shared between sisters, especially on such an important day.

How sweet is this little one?   I can almost hear announcing the bride's exit.

Tami and Matt got married at the beautiful St. Agnes church in Westchester.  It was gorgeous and dramatic and right in the middle of downtown Westchester, which is the cutest little college town.

Onto my favorite images of the day.  Everything about Overbrook was just heaven.  The glowing light, the soft, rust brick in the buildings and the immaculate gardens and pathways made shooting a total breeze.  These are truly some of my favorite portraits I've ever made and the location, in addition to the lovely wedding party, had a lot to do with it.

Thanks to Georgi Anastasov, my amazing shooting partner, for this epic groomsmen shot.

Tami and Matt, thank you for sharing your lovely day at Overbrook with me.  Matt, I hope you still think of your amazing wedding day every time you play a round of golf here, which from what I understand, is pretty often!

A Maryland wedding at home - Renee and Charlene

I will be the first to admit that when it comes to blogging, I am extremely delinquent in getting projects up in a timely manner, but I am working on it!  I have so many gorgeous weddings and shoots to share that I haven't yet blogged and I am going to start at the beginning in an effort to catch up.  Renee and Charlene had a beautiful ceremony at Renee's parents' house in Earleville, Maryland.  The house overlooks the water on a beautiful property and it was simply the perfect place to tie the knot. Philly_Weddings_16

I loved the relaxed vibe of this wedding.  Everything was beautiful and no detail was missed but the cowboy boots and the general attitude of everyone involved was simply to have fun and celebrate the love shared by these two women.  The dock behind the house was such a wonderful spot for some beautiful portraits.

The ceremony was up on a hill under the most spectacular tree.  Charlene and Renee both walked toward the ceremony from opposite sides of the house, escorted by their parents, and met at the head of the aisle.  It was a really nice touch and so sweet to see Renee trying to get a peek at Charlene as soon as she had the opportunity while Charlene seemed to almost try to look away until finally reaching the head of the aisle.  It may have just been my perception but I bet it says a lot about their personalities too.  I remember thinking during their engagement session that they really complemented each other wonderfully.

When the ceremony ended, guests took a walk to another part of the property for cocktails and dancing under a tented reception.  I loved the string lights Renee and Charlene hung for the cocktail hour.  It was just getting to be dusk and the lights and fire pits really added to the ambience.  The old blue Chevy was a pretty great prop, too!

Everyone capped off the night with toasts and dancing and overall it was a pretty spectacular day.

Greenville Country Club Wedding - Amanda and Jack

My 2015 wedding season kicked off with Amanda and Jack's absolutely gorgeous wedding at Greenville Country Club.  Each location was better than the last, from Hotel duPont to the chapel at Hagley Museum to Greenville Country Club.  The day was beyond beautiful and it was a pleasure photographing this couple from start to finish.  Flowers by Yukie did the flowers and they were some of the most amazing and artistic florals I had ever seen.  Samantha from Secretariat made the day go so smoothly and I couldn't be more excited for my upcoming weddings this year after such a great start.  Enjoy their photos from this very special day!

Moorestown Community House Wedding - Kate and Peter

I am at a loss of what to write about such an amazing day with such wonderful people.  There aren't words to express the joy I felt on Kate and Pete's wedding day.  Kate and I spent our most formative years together as best friends through junior high, high school and beyond.  We have so, so many memories together and she has been there for me through countless highs and lows throughout my life.  I have always wanted to photograph her wedding and knew it would be beautifully planned and executed, and it absolutely was.  Having had my son just four week prior to Kate's wedding, I knew I couldn't handle shooting the day alone so I took the role of part-time second shooter and left the rest in the very capable hands of Daniel Moyer, who did a remarkable job capturing every moment of the day.  I'll let the images tell the rest of the story.  Kate and Pete, I look forward to making many more memories with you both and thank you so much for including me in your day in such a special way.

New Hope Wedding Photographer - Alanna and Derek - Centre Bridge Inn

Couples don't get much happier than this one.  Both Alanna and Derek seemed so happy just being together on their wedding day.  They were smiling, laughing or tearing up in every photo. I didn't need to ask them to do anything, they were so natural and in love.  I had  photographed Alanna's sister Blake's wedding a few years back and it was wonderful working with this lovely family again.  I wish there were more sisters because everyone I met at this wedding was just wonderful.  The venue was beautiful and only a few minutes from my home which was especially nice!  A big thank you to Alanna and Derek for being so wonderful to work with.  Enjoy their photographs!

Down Town Club Wedding - Sara and Doug

I knew I wanted to work with Sara and Doug from the moment I met them at Panera :)  I could tell they were both genuinely happy people.  I could also tell that together, they made each other even happier.  Sara is sweet, beautiful, motivated and has great taste which really shined in all of her wedding details.  Doug was so doting on his bride which was really sweet to witness on their wedding day. I loved the colors they chose and the way the Down Town Club was decorated.  Everything was just flawless.  This wedding was such a pleasure to shoot.  The following are a preview for Sara and Doug as I have only edited my photos and not my associate's photos.  So here is a representation of what I saw that day with more to come in the full gallery, Sara and Doug.  Enjoy!

Lehigh Country Club Wedding - Karen and Phil

Karen is, in a word, happy.  For as many years as I have known her she has always been a bright light and a warm presence.  I would bet there are zero people who do not like her.  I knew Phil and Karen's wedding would be lovely.  There were many, many months of planning that went into creating this beautiful day, as is the case with most weddings.  But I knew this wedding would just be so special from the moment I heard all of the ideas buzzing from Karen and her creative and multi-talented mother, Becky.  The dress, the flowers, the venue, the ceremony, the fireworks, everything was amazing.  I'll let the photos illustrate how wonderful this wedding was but I want to express my thanks and gratitude for the opportunity to work with both Karen and Phil and to document such a special time for such a sweet couple.  I believe Karen has truly found the yin to her yang in Phil.  Upon meeting him for their engagement session, he was equally as warm and kind as Karen and they both laugh with ease, which should serve them well in marriage.  Karen and Phil, I wish you many years of health, happiness and a beautiful new life together.  Congratulations!!

Doylestown Wedding Photographer - Aldie Mansion

I met Casey and Dan on their wedding day which meant I really had no idea what to expect.  I couldn't have been more pleased to find such kind and happy people.  Casey was so sweet and her entire family had me laughing all day.  While it rained for the entire day, and if it stopped we didn't notice, she beamed from ear to ear in spite of it.  I loved their attitude and upbeat nature.  It was a pleasure working with such a fun group and it was an added bonus that it was as close to home as I've ever worked, ten minutes!  I hope you enjoy the photos, I think we made the absolute best of a rainy day and I'm so thankful Casey and Dan were willing to brave the rain for some umbrella photos.  I always love the way they turn out.

Burnside Plantation Wedding - Emily and Nils

Emily and Nils planned their beautiful Pennsylvania wedding from Kansas City.  Emily is an artist and designed many of the paper details, invitations, etc. herself.  I can't imagine planning such a detailed wedding from so far away, let alone having it all come together as beautifully as it did.  Burnside Plantation is a gorgeous, rustic, Pennsylvania venue which is perfect for warm weather weddings.  The barns, grounds and tented reception are always so attractive and a great backdrop for outdoor photographs.  The light was beautiful on this September day and I loved many of the bride and groom shots we were able to get at Burnside as well as in downtown Bethlehem.  I would be remiss not to mention what an amazing job 14 Acre Farm did with the food.  It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten!

Snug Harbor Wedding - Jay and Joann

This was a special wedding for me.  I went to college with Jay and a few of his groomsmen so when he and Joann asked me to shoot their wedding at Snug Harbor, I knew I wanted to do it.  Joann is beautiful and sweet and the perfect foil to the gentleman and funny guy that is Jay.  I wasn't surprised when I met her that Jay had found such a kind and graceful woman to make his wife.  They had a beautiful September wedding and Snug Harbor was a really beautiful venue that I had not shot before.  There were so many neat and different places there for portraits and I loved the color in all of their photographs.  It was hard for me to narrow these down, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them!

Appleford Estate Wedding - Christa and Jeff

Christa and Jeff got married at the beautiful Appleford Estate over the summer.  The grounds at Appleford are so picturesque and everywhere you look is lush and beautiful.  The estate in addition to the photographs we took at Christa's family home made for a beautiful collection of images.  From split-rail fences to their old farm house and horses, I couldn't have asked for more.  It is exactly what I imagine for a rural Pennsylvania wedding.  I had already shot Christa's brother's wedding and her sister's family multiple times so it was fun to see everyone again and work with them on such a lovely day.

Long Island Wedding Photographer - Kathryn and Will

Will and Kathryn had an amazing day on Long Island for their beautiful wedding.  I've since photographed Kathryn's extended family and they are all such good people.  I love doing what I do but it's the people that really make it worthwhile.  Knowing how much people appreciate photography makes me want to work that much harder to get the images that will make them feel like their wedding was yesterday when they look at their photos because they can so readily feel what they were feeling in the photographs.  I hope I got some of those shots for Kathryn and Will.  They deserve it!  Thank you for being such sweet clients to work with, I really enjoyed my time with both of you and your families.

Lehigh Country Club Wedding - Erin and Bret

I grew up with Erin at church.  We spent many a retreat, lock-in, choir tour, work camp, Christmas Eve service and Sunday night youth group together.  The friendships we made in our youth group were some of the strongest and the bonds we formed were strengthened over many years of the rich experiences we shared through church.  It was an atmosphere that becomes easy to forget when you graduate high school and abruptly enter the real world of facing a mass of strangers at college and then the actual world of post-college reality.  Many of us have moved away from home, but seeing Erin (and Sara!) brought back so many memories and warmed my heart in a way that I am so thankful for.  Erin, it was an honor and a privilege to photograph your wedding.  You made a stunning bride and I loved sharing every moment with you.  Bret, you already know you're a lucky man :)  Thank you SO much for trusting me with your most special day.  You are such a sweet couple and I wish you a lifetime of health and happiness.

Crossed Keys Inn Wedding - Nicole and Jay

This day was perfect.  The weather was beautiful, just the right temperature for Fall and the venue was exquisite.  I really loved everything about Nicole and Jay's wedding which made it a joy to shoot.  With so many Delaware alumni in attendance, I saw a familiar face every time I turned around.  I love shooting weddings for people I know.  It feels extra special to be trusted as the person to document such an important day.  Thank you, Nicole and Jay for trusting me and giving me such a wonderful day to take photographs of; I truly had been looking forward to your wedding for months!
